tips & tricks for growth
sure signs you have (or are) a good friend
Am I a good friend? Thatâs a great introspective, self-aware kinda question! To find the answer, you could do what any sensible person would doâtake a bunch of online quizzes and see if the internet thinks youâre a good friend. (I was everything from a âBFFâ to a âjust-okay friend.â) OR you could ask yourself this question: âWhat am I looking for in a friend?âÂ
A good friend:
1. shows up.
2. lets you be yourselfâŚ
3. ⌠while helping you be your best self.
4. is self-aware.
5. is empathetic.
6. is trustworthy.
7. is fun, introduces you to new experiences, and helps you grow.
What you are looking for in a friend â be that person! Being a good friend and having good friends are two essential things in life.
lets just agree 2 disagree…
If youâve been together for a minute you know disagreements are going to come up between the two of you. But, have you ever had one of those disagreements where not only were you on opposite sides of the issue, neither one of you was willing to budge?
Guess what? Youâre in good company. Plenty of relationships have experienced this; they may just not be talking about it because what does it really say about your relationship if you canât figure out how to come to some type of compromise? Asking for a friend, right?
Itâs actually possible to agree to disagree without experiencing distress in your relationship. Meaning, both people have accepted the otherâs point of view without agreeing on it and they are moving on.
Itâs not always easy to disagree without being disagreeable. Keep in mind, the one you love is far more valuable than proving your point or being right.
