“…and they both lived happily ever after.”

YEAH RIGHT. They both had to deal with conflict over sex, money, and parenting. They both had to handle frequent miscommunication. They often felt disconnected. Sometimes, they just got on each other’s nerves. Often, the spark just wasn’t there. What made them HEROES in their marriage story is that they never gave up!
See the topics

We don’t know about that “happily ever after” fairytale stuff, but we do know you can be happily married.

Sometimes we settle, we coexist, we go along to get along, or we just try to keep the damage to a minimum. There are no perfect marriages. There are also no unicorns. So what? You can always Maximize Your Marriage. You know what’s NOT a mythical creature? Your marriage being BETTER than you could ever imagine.

Wherever your marriage is today, that’s where Maximize Your Marriage starts your next chapter.

In every great story, the characters face obstacles. The story of your marriage is no different. But now you’ll get the tools you need and even some guides to help you overcome the obstacles. You can completely turn your story around or make sure it stays headed in the right direction. Hey, it’s your story. Write what comes next.

Here’s how you’ll write the next chapter of your marriage story:

✅ You’ll receive seven modules that you can work on when you want & where you want.

✅ Each module features a brief video led by marriage experts, Gena & Chris, explaining a common marriage obstacle and how to overcome it.

✅ After watching the video, you’ll download materials to help you personalize the key marriage concept for your unique marriage.

✅ You’ll turn ideas into actions with the “For Me,” “For Us,” and “For Our Future” sections in each module’s accompanying handout. (You can work on these materials as a couple or on your own. Either way, your story will be improved.)

✅ You’ll have access to Gena & Chris by email every step of the way to answer any questions or just give you a little encouragement. (THIS is what makes Maximize Your Marriage customized & personalized!)

MEET YOUR GUIDES

Chris Ownby

@chrisownby1

Clearly, Chris is only here for his good looks and witty banter. Definitely not his three college degrees or Master’s in Family Life Science. *cough* show-off *cough* Chris has been married to his wife Kristin since 2004, and they have two daughters, Kendall and Lily. In his free time, Chris loves spending time outdoors – camping, hiking and fishing.

Gena Ellis

@gena.r.ellis

Gena is a straight-talking sanguine who’s been in the relationship biz for over two decades (so she’s seen a thing or two). With a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, she’s not only got the street smarts, she’s got the book smarts, too.  She married her college sweetheart, Edward, in 1994. They are the proud parents of three sons. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and watching football with her family.

The best is yet to come…

Every marriage has a story, but not everyone feels empowered to grab the pen and write it. Your marriage doesn’t have to “happen” to you. Get the tools. Gain the knowledge. Get happy. You know that scene in the story when the character overcomes the obstacles, defies the odds, and becomes a hero? That scene is now.
