affirm your husband as a dad
The task of hunting down the ācoolestā and most thoughtful Fatherās Day present can often be superbly difficult. Your challenge has probably been trying to find āThe Thingā that perfectly encapsulates how amazing of a father your husband is. IMPOSSIBLE. Sure, thereās the Home Depot gift card, or the steak dinner, or the new grill or gadget. However, none of these things ever seem to accurately express the depth of gratitude you have for your man!
I may have a solution that seems simple on the surface but can express what a Home Depot gift card cannot: Words and Actions of Affirmation and Encouragement.Ā
Here are some ways you can affirm your husband as a dad:Ā
š Write down one way he has been an amazing dad for each year he has been a parent. So, if heās been a parent for 10 years, thatās 10 pieces of encouragement!
š This one is for the āphysical touchā people. Either take your manās hands, or give him a hug, or cup his face in your hands and tell him that he is killinā it as a dad and that youāre thankful he is your partner.
š Ask how you can best support him as a father. This question will show your husband that you care deeply about his needs and that youāre there to support him.
š Gather your kids and tell stories about all the ways he has been an amazing father. This could become a Fatherās Day tradition! Stories could include daddy-daughter dates or help with homework, etc.
DADS! Do you do these 10 things?
We live in a society that often downplays and minimizes the role that fathers play in the lives of their children. Mothers are often viewed as a childās āprimary caregiverā and dads are relegated to the sidelines. Sadly, many mothers reinforce this idea in a number of ways, and sadder still, many fathers go right along with it. Not good.
This idea flies in the face of what all the current science and research says about the importance of fathers from a childās birth onward. Dads matter. In fact, they often provide things that mom canāt provide.
There are 10 specific things that every dad can do to guide his child to be a successful adult. Check out what they are in our FREE E-book!š

š Looking for a place to cool off this summer? Here are some of the Best Swimming Holes in the U.S.Ā No worries if you are not near any of these just google some in your area. Grab the kids, pack a lunch, bring water and go exploring for a fun afternoon.
šØāš³ I donāt remember how I found Smittenkitchen (Yes that is kitchen, not kitten!) on Instagram, but I have made the most recipes from her posts. Scroll through with your kids, pick a recipe that looks yummy and get cooking.
š Stolen Focus by Johann Hari is my new favorite book. It helps you relearn how to focus, and put down your phone and all other distractions. For parenting, it helps you be in the moment with your kids as opposed to the parents looking at their phones as they play with their kids.
