tips & tricks for growth
establish quiet time for your fam
Some people saw How to Establish a Family Quiet Time and thought, āYeah right. Thereās just no way. You havenāt been to my house. You donāt know my kids.ā
Iām not going to try and convince you on the importance of quiet time. I havenāt met a parent yet who doesnāt crave it when they are home all day with their children. Iām just going to empower you to establish a quiet time.
š§ Step 1: Get Your Mind Right.
Youāve got to believe it can be done. They may resist and scream. They may dig deep into their bag of tricks to block the entry of a quiet time into your home. Donāt believe the lie. They donāt know whatās good for them.Ā Hear the voice of the man with 7 kids: āIt can be done. You can do it.ā It may not be perfect the first time, but whatever you do, donāt believe the lie. Which takes us to step #2.
š Step 2: Prepare To Be Persistent.
If at first you donāt succeed, try, try again. You didnāt ride your bike perfectly the first time you took off the training wheels. They donāt believe that youāre serious unless you stick with it. Kids are wired to resist anything that their parents say is good for them at first, at least it seems that way. Itās not impossible just because it didnāt work out the first time. Youāre going to have to stick with it.
forgive yourself + grow from here
Forgiveness is often defined as letting go of feelings of resentment, anger, or bitterness toward someone who has wronged you. Forgiving others can be tough. But we all can forgive. While you may be able to forgive others, how are you at forgiving yourself for mistakes youāve made or wrongs youāve committed?
Forgiving yourself requires empathy, compassion, kindness, and understanding. We all make mistakes. However, there is power in acknowledging, learning from, and moving beyond our mistakes.
So, how can you take steps to forgive yourself?
š Accept Responsibility
šĀ Show Remorse
šĀ Apologize and Restore Trust
šĀ Focus on Renewal
Making mistakes is a normal part of life. Weāre all guilty of it, but what matters is that we learn from our mistakes and move forward.
