October is Let’s Talk Month, a nationally celebrated month
emphasizing the importance of communication between youth and the
adults they trust in helping young people develop responsible attitudes
and make wise choices.
Studies show that parents who have
ongoing conversations with their children about issues such as sex,
drugs, alcohol and other risky behaviors can have a significant impact
on the choices their children ultimately make.
Dr. Meg
Meeker, author of Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters, Boys Should Be
Boys: Seven Secrets to Raising Healthy Boys and Your Kids at Risk will
speak Thursday, October 23rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Girls Preparatory
School.
